Remember, the United States is and always has been a Judeo-Christian nation; Americans have never and will never wear hijabs nor will they ever support the wearing of them.
For many in Western nations, especially those descended from Anglo-Saxon traditions (e.g., US, Canada, Australia, NZ, Ireland, etc.), hijabs are widely viewed as a sign of religious and cultural oppression and a marker of the Third World.
The United States is NOT a Third World country nor do we support the ideologies most closely associated with these nations and their primitive cultures.
The United States is one of the kindest nations to women on the face of the earth and always has been. Feminism and respect for women is very prominent in the United States, and the wearing of hijabs is neither consistent with feminist ideologies nor our traditionally Protestant mores and values.
Oftentimes, Democrats and the liberal news media like to place our shared and historic American cultural norms, customs and traditions, including our Judeo-Christian values and ideals, on the back-burner in favor of outsiders from other cultural and religious heritages that are radically different from our own (e.g., Islamic traditions).
Western nations, especially the more liberal ones (e.g., Scandinavian countries), are really good at this. Look at the mess Sweden, et al. is currently in with all of their Islamic "refugees," LOL. Women and girls are being raped in public in broad daylight!
Non-Western nations don't tolerate behavior that neither differs from nor supports their own, so why should we in America? Go to Iran or Saudi Arabia as a woman without a hijab, and you'll see how quickly you'll either be arrested or - worse - beaten.
That's the reason why Donald Trump was elected President back in November; he wants to put Americans and our shared heritage, values, customs, norms, etc. FIRST, which includes the protection of women's rights.
Now, some people are going to say that Donald Trump is a bad president for women, but that's not true. What he and his Administration are actively combating is the inundation of low-wage workers from highly primitive, backwards nations / cultures, in which the abuse of women (and children) is normal and common.
Incest, child-rape, gang-rape, etc. is NOT the norm in America and - so help us God and Mr. Trump - never will be.
If we don't do something to halt this inundation, then we will see our culture fall apart in less than a generation. And that's not good, especially for women, children, LGBT folks, plants, animals, etc.
All too often the American woman doesn't realize how good she really has it with the American man until you experience the non-American man.

It's too bad that I can only rep this post one time.

Hold on for a moment and back up! America is the First World country it is today namely because of the protection of its U.S. Constitution, a widespread belief in scientific knowledge and incorporation of technology, rather than the "revealed truths" of any primitive religion. How can it be forgotten that the three religions entitled "Peoples of the Book" all evolved from the very same source: initially, ancient tribal worship of a polytheistic deity named Yahweh.
As a powerful secular nation of the 21st century CE, not only has the United States checkmated the onslaught of Islam, but also curtailed the influence of Judeo-Christianity. Otherwise, right now our country might resemble Ferdinand & Isabella's Spain, John Calvin's Geneva, Cotton Mather's Massachusetts or Jerry Falwell's Lynchburg, Virginia - or Benjamin Netanyahu's Jerusalem surrounding Temple Mount.
