From the list I'd say New Orleans reminded me of Philadelphia to some extent.
I would add parts of Washington, D.C. too. But they're all different. The food and festivities in New Orleans are things I haven't seen replicated elsewhere in the U.S. or Canada.
I still maintain that New Orleans is most similar to Cincinnati.
They both grew to a similar size and prominence at the same time for the same reason. They were the port cities that connected the river system to the oceans and lakes. They both have unique culture and unique culinary contributions to society. (goetta is fantastic) They both have unique architecture. They both have unique traditions and festivals. (Bockfest is a crazy fun time) And most importantly they are both home to the nation's largest urban historic districts. Over-the-Rhine is a place that people should know about.
The biggest and most obvious difference is that NOLA has more of a French flair where Cincy has more of a German flair.
