miami metro has always been poor since the early 1920s.. its nothing new..

i saw it first hand growing up in miami.. 3 families or more living in small houses/condos/apartments ( 1200 sqft and less) section 8 apartments are everywhere..
then you got the yuppies there is no real middle class.. only very few neighborhoods are middle class.

If you drop out illegal immigrants the poverty levels would be lower.

Oh please, don't even go there. 11-15 million illegal workers would lower the unemployment rate a fraction of one percentage point. You're only parroting more GOP distraction rhetoric from the real issues.

The Census Bureau undercounts illegal immigrants -- if they're counted at all -- so I think your point is moot.

And not Philadelphia? While a smaller economy than Chicago for sure, Philadelphia has a much larger and diverse economy than Pittsburgh.
