And yes about Bernardsville.
Never heard of Bernardsville, but that's how I've pronounced it anyway. St. Bernard, despite the pronunciation of the dog breed, was always pronounced BER-nerd at the church I belonged to as a child, St. Bernard's .

This could happen just about anywhere, but a lot of people seem to say "cow-nee" for "county" (not pronouncing the "t").

My hometown of Durant, Oklahoma is pronounced der-ANT, not DOO-rant (which I hear all the time.)

Caddo, a town to the north of Durant, is pronounced CA-doh (short A sound).

Colbert, a town south of Durant, is pronounced CAW-bert.

Miami, OK is pronounced my-AM-uh.

Atoka, OK is uh-TOH-kuh.

Poteau, OK is poh-doh.

Lukfata, OK is LUKE-fah-duh.

Chickasha, OK is CHICK-uh-SHAY.

Tahlequah, OK is TAL-leh-KWAH.

Chautauqua Ave, a street in Norman, OK is pronounced shuh-TAW-kwuh. You can tell when students are new to OU when they try to pronounce that street, lol.
