If it isn't too much of a bother for anyone, I would appreciate that you vote for the Midwest as the "Rudest Region". Why just the other day, there was a turtle on the road that was blocking my route for a good 5 to 10 minutes! Would have driven around him but what with the solid colored lines and all... I finally went out to see what the deal was, but it turned out he was dead, what a jerk. thank you.

Second place is Florida where the Northeasterners went when they retired.

I recall in early 2008 when the primaries/caucus were just getting started.

The media was swarming New Hampshire and some reporters were asking people what makes New Hampshire residents different.

One older guy in his late 70's said that some people use " How are you" as a substitute for " hi"
He stated he, and other New Hampshire people, probably would respond with------" none of your damn business"

That old guy was proud of being rude.

People in the northeast are not inherently rude. It's just that it's the most populated, congested and fastest-moving part of the country. And folks merely act the way you would expect anyone to in those circumstances.

Northeast has to be the rudest region. I can't believe that they spit on cars, don't hold doors for me ( I'm a lady), don't offer to help me when I am carrying heavy packages, and they always seem to be in a rush. Maryland and Virginia are rude northeastern states, but I think Northern NJ and the NYC metro along with Boston are probably the most rudest areas in the country.

The southeast is the nicest region. Everyone is just so friendly there, though they tend to talk behind your back.

The northeast has some really rude people
Granted, the Northeast probably is the rudest area in the nation, but as a resident of NJ, let me tell you a few things about those shows...

Many of us (NJians) HATE, HATE, HATE those shows. The Jersey Shore is full of people from NY(1 of whom moved from NY to NJ). Jerseylicious is only there to play up that stereotype. Neither show represents life in NJ at all, and (although we do sometimes find those show's funny) many of us resent those shows, because of the false image they display. Personally, I rarely (I can't even remember the last time I did) ever see people like that. I'm sick of people asking me why I'm not a guido, why I don't go fist pumping, if I've been to Sea Side Hights, if I know Snookie(who is niether Italian nor from NJ), and other DUMB questions based on that show.

Back on topic. I definitely think that the Northeast is the rudest (people insulting you to your face type rude), but I imagine that the West Coast would be more passive aggressive type rude if that makes any sense. People from the west coast, thoughts?

Spit on cars? Someone deserves a tight slap on the face for doing that. LOL.

I've never been to the northeast before (New York, Maine, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and etc.).

But I've lived here in the southwest for 9 years now and I can't believe how rude these folks are here (Arizona, southern Cal, Nevada, and west New Mexico).

I'll be honest, a lot of people here in the Northeast hold open doors, and most people don't spit on cars (and the odds are if they did spit on it, the person who's car is being spit on deserved it)

As a New Jersey native, I must admit that most of my day is spent spitting on cars (I prefer spitting on late model Fords), intentionally ignoring ladies with packages (especially old ladies) & running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
It's an exhausting way to live............................
