Do people ever move up north or back east? (home, living)

These days, it seems like everyone is only concerned about chasing warm weather and cheaper living and are flocking to places like Phoenix, Las Vegas, Florida, Texas, or the Carolinas. But do people ever move up north (or back east) from these places, for any reason? I do know some people here in CT that moved from Arizona or Florida, yes, but how come people here on City-Data never look into moving up north or back east?

People move North and East all the time. You should spend more time in the individual State forums. They are full of moving questions from people in the South or West looking to move either to the North or to the East.

Apparantly they do since there are so many humans populating the North and the East currently.

To answer your second question, yes, some people do for numerous reasons that are different for each one who moves.

People are constantly moving back North/East but more people move elsewhere, so it would seem as though no one is nothing to the North East.

Sure they do. I heard someone relate a statistic recently that NH is gaining in population. I'm sure that could be verified.

As some of our C-D friends know, I moved "back up north" after spending 30 years in the South. I'm from NY state and I missed the cold weather and SNOW!!!

I lived in Florida for a while and couldn't leave fast enough. The "Welcome to Georgia" sign on I-95 never looked so good

Our area of SE Michigan/NW Ohio is home to a lot of natives who moved to the Sunbelt, tired of it rather quickly, and moved back home.

There are so many intangible things that most of us take for granted that make a place "home", and unfortunately, it often takes a move to a seemingly "better" area to make us realize what we gave up.

We tried the Phoenix area for a time and, while others move there and love it and stay, it only served to make us appreciate what we have right here.

I echo what the PP said, take a look at some of the northern states' forums sometime. They are full of questions from people inquiring about moving there. Not everyone lives for relatively warmer winters, and some people simply cannot tolerate the intense heat of a Sunbelt summer.
