In Washington, the Selkirk Mountains and the Mount Adams Wilderness are unknown/undiscovered by many people. Most people in Washington probably haven't seen the state's second highest mountain---Mount Adams, standing at 12,276 feet. The Big Lava Bed and the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge are both very interesting and beautiful as well, yet they are only well known to a few.

Western Montana.

And I definitely agree with your WA locations.

Big Bend Nat'l Park straddling the TX/Mexico border is possibly the most isolated NP in the country, and is surprisingly beautiful. I had never really heard of it before moving to Austin, and have now backpacked there several times. Huge park with very few visitors, very much 'off the grid' in comparison to other places.

Big Bend is fascinating especially for its remoteness. Even by New Mexico standards.

I'll put in a vote for the Adirondacks which don't get much press outside the Northeast.
