Ours is Main Street.

But the main drag to the beach is either Pacific Coast Highway or Beach Boulevard

It's a tough call in Manhattan. A lot of places could be called our Main St. But I'd nominate 42nd St. At one end you got the U.N., at the other the Intrepid and the Chinese Embassy, and in between you have Grand Central Station, Port Authority bus station, the main branch of the Public Library, dozens of big office buildings, and of course, Times Square.

Of the big cities I've lived in:

Milwaukee, Wisconsin Avenue
Baton Rouge, Third Street
New Orleans, Canal Street
Montreal, Saint Catherine Street
Kansas City MO, Main Street
Mobile, probably Dauphin Street
St. John's NL, Water Street

Atlanta is Peachtree st. Not to be confused with West Peachtree St, Peachtree Rd, Peachtree Blvd, Peachtree Industrial Blvd...

Yes, THE Peachtree...not the dozens of streets with Peachtree in the name. Some people seem to think that there are like 100 streets with the same name.

Oakland CA: Broadway & 14th St is the main intersection, and "Main Street" would probably be 14th/International, for better or worse.

Columbus OH: Broad St & High St is the main intersection, and High is without a doubt the "Main Street" of the city.
