So I'm a 24 year old male and I'm currently living in Washington state and I'm planning on moving in the near future. I've been looking into Denver, Philadelphia, and portland (although I'd like to move further away and they only have an nba team) which seem like good places to live but I'd like to see what other places might be good options.
I'm really into sports (mainly baseball basketball and football) so I'd like to live in or near a city with those 3 professional sports. I'm also hoping to move to a city with decent job oppurtunities, I don't have a degree, my work experience is mostly retail and data entry. Also I'd like the cost of living to be around the price of Seattle. I'm not a big fan of extremely hot weather, hoping wherever I move doesn't get much hotter then 100.
The main thing for me is a place with decent job opportunities, a safe city with nice people and a city with or near professional sports.
Do you live near Seattle already or out of the city? Seems like Seattle fits for you or are you just trying to experience a new place? If that's the case I would go with Philly as in Denver you would get anything really you can't find in the Seattle area.

I live about an hour from Seattle. I definitely wouldnt mind living there but I would like to move out of the state.

That's one of the main reasons I've been thinking about Philadelphia. I would love to live in new York but it's too expensive for me. I like that Philadelphia is so close to new York and Atlantic city. Any idea of what the average apartment price is? I'm not really wanting to stay in a ghetto area.

I would look on craigslist .You could rent a room off someone until you learn the area better. As far as the weather goes it does snow there .....they have had a couple of big snows this year.

With Minneapolis-St. Paul the overall COL is a little bit above the national average and the unemployment rate is low. I think it is worth investigating.
I thought about Cleveland, but I don't know if that would work for you. Same thing with Chicago.
Philly leaves much to be desired compared to some of the Western cities such as Seattle, Portland, Denver, and Phoenix. It's very rundown and most of the people there are either ghetto, ornery, or some variant of "tough"--nothing at all like the West. Don't let anyone on here fool you for a minute.
FWIW, I don't know anyone who willingly moves to Philly these days, but I know tons of people who have moved out.

I hope this helps.
Didn't Philadelphia actually add people within city limits between 2000-2010? I believe some from the NYC area have moved there. US2010
