OP, I have to ask. You stated once in another forum that you were thinking of relocating from Portland. So if this is a question regarding relocation rather than just for general information, why do you want a city similar to Portland since you seem to be very disappointed in Portland after having lived here. You have shown you are not happy with Portland by the numerous posts stating the negatives about the city. Why go from the frying pan to the fire? I would think you would be looking for just the opposite of Portland.
Honestly, I am not trying to be snarky or anything like that. I am just wondering what your thoughts are. Won't you be just as unhappy with more of the same?
Of course, if you are just asking out of curiosity, then never mind.

Mostly out of curiosity. I guess I would like some of the things Portland has, but I wouldn't want a clone of here either. There's certain things about here I like and certain things I don't.
I've only been to Portland twice but from my experience I would probably say Philly. Baltimore would be a close second. Philly and Portland are both the 2nd largest cities in their respective regions(northeast and northwest). Both cities are very bike friendly and are major US destinations when it comes to micro-breweries. Both cities seem to master the balance of urban planning while preserving natural scenery and green space. Both cities have passionate sports fans. If you don't believe me than go to a "Portland Timbers" or a "Philadelphia Eagles" game and you will see the passion of the fans. Both cities have a history of being overshadowed by their larger and more prominent neighbor aka..Seattle and New York City.
