New York lost its #1 population status to California in 1964.
New York lost its #2 population status to Texas in 1994
New York is about to lose its #3 population status to Florida in 2014
None of this actually means anything, but I thought the coincidence was amazing. New York won't be losing #4 to anyone anytime soon though.
