We currently live in a sleepy little town of about 8,000 and it is the epitome of small town living, complete with the village square, cafes and cute little antique shops and boutiques,It is 45 minutes from Columbia mo. and 25 minutes from two of the best colleges in the nation, Westminster and William woods. There is an industrial park on the south side of town with many opportunities for employment as we have several distribution centers here.
There is a town pool that is kept very nice, and the Military academy is a few blocks away which houses the Miss Missouri pageant annually. We have a farmer's market in the park each Saturday and we also have concerts in the park. We have Soy bean festivals, A walk back in time which is an encampment of the civil war era at the town museum grounds every year.
The hospital is on the very next block and the Doctor's office building is also close by. The sisters of Saint Mary's just bought the hospital this year so it is state of the art care.

The schools are considered in the top ten of the mid west and They also have a vo-tech and an ITT center here in town. Everyone is very friendly and looks out for each other.

We are almost 70 years old and all our kids are raised so this four -five bedroom house is too much for just the two of us any more. It is five bedroom 2 and 1/2 baths, laundry on the first floor, master suite has a dressing room and wall to wall closet and built in vanity. The kitchen has an 8 foot island and two or three women can cook in it without getting in each other's way. It has a formal dining room and two fireplaces. many new upgrades and all new appliances. All with a two car garage and a large garden shed. A large front porch, a side porch and a back entrance that is convenient to the garage. It also has a full unfinished basement that does NOT leak in fact i have a summer kitchen down there and it has it's own walk out entrance as well. We have re installed crystal chandeliers in the dFormal dining room and at the top of the stairway.
Altogether it is 4,284 square feet with a full attic. We are asking $159,900. It is appraised at 199,900.We are wanting to retire and move to another state where three of our children and our grandchildren live.

This house sits on a corner lot and was a stately home built by a civil war colonel McDowell in his retirement years.
If you are interested I would be happy to send you photos.
