I think dry climates can be difficult for a person with sinus problems. Maybe some have better luck than others concerning this statement. The dry air can dry out the sinuses way to much. Giving a clogged up feeling much of the time. That and the nose bleeds that can come from the dry air.
Having lived back and forth between Florida and Texas for the past 7 years, I very much know the pros and cons to living in a dry climate. I love dry climates a little better except for one thing. The dirty air. Depending on where you live in the Western U.S., the air is more dirty than humid climates. The particles are more prone to get stuck in the air with no rain to wash it out as it often does in humid subtropical climates like South Florida. That's how ours stays so clean.

As much as I love the desert/dry climate, the perpetual nose bleeds got really annoying. Especially when you're sleeping.
Here it rains a lot, 3-4 feet a year but rain is concentrated and it is generally dry, windy
we have no lakes, rivers nor ponds and that's good because in spring, summer there ain't no bugs and clothes don't sweat on me!
I'd say the water tastes worse over on this side of the country, in general. Here in Arizona the tap is pretty gross tasting about 90% of the time. I have a feeling the coastal cities are a little better though.
I would trade two-three months/year of hot and humid for 12 months of drier and deader than Mars.
On the other hand, I'd rather live in 'drier and deader than Mars' than some southern locale where hot and humid lasts until Christmas and start up again by Easter.
