What do you think are the most LIBERAL cities in the U.S?

Like European-type liberalness.

Seattle is the most liberal city. They even have a socialist in their city council. BNYC (Bloomberg NYC) is also up there.

What do you mean "European-type libarleness"? Social liberalness? Governmental liberalness? Really none of the cities in the US have European-type liberal governments, where they have universal healthcare and extremely high tax rates. Most Northern cities (Boston, NYC, Philly, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis) though have bigger governments, higher taxes, more government funded social infrastructure. In terms of social liberalness (which, by the way, many European cities, while liberal in some respects, are not all that accepting of minorities), it would of course be the coastal cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and to some extent Chicago and Minneapolis.

Burlington, VT had two socialist mayors elected within the last 15 years and the only city to have a socialist mayor elected since the 1980's.

Bernie Sanders being one of the most liberal member of the US Senate was also once mayor of Burlington.

VT also has a socialist US Senator. The city is pretty small though, probably more comparable to Berkeley CA than San Francisco or Seattle.

Well the thread said cities, not a pre-requisite requirement for major cities. But yeah I'd say Berkeley, Boulder, and Burlington all have similar DNA and are in a liberal league of their own.

Edit, I see the OP added a poll.

There are sites to find out which cities are the most liberal, and which are most conservative. One can say it's definitely "this one," but facts may prove them wrong. I know Milwaukee isn't currently the most liberal city, but it may be the only one that has had three socialist mayors. I believe Detroit is the most liberal city, currently, but maybe I'll do some research to find out, for certain.
