The fact that Virginia has more votes than North Carolina, especially in this day and age, is so baffling...

Given the overall number of votes cast, it's a very negligible difference. The main takeaway is that neither is widely considered to be among the most Southern of states by a large margin.

I wonder out of the 245 votes for the Sipp, How many actually seen the entire state and not just the delta region?

Most southern would be Mississippi. Least would be Delaware or Maryland then Florida.

It could just be a result of there being more Virginians than North Carolinians
