Milquetoast has a valid point.

The thread is about "Green" construction, not about the general merits or shortcomings of any area or city.

Good job milky, you said something on the same forum as Cop without dissing him. Congratulations.

But yeah. I seriously am glad that we are doing so much more than any other city since we really do need to be doing the most.

I'll admit that it was a surprise, but I wouldn't say weird. All it does is go to prove that, once again, the stereotypes about these cities are wrong.

But I guess even I'm guilty for falling for these stereotypes. And the media continues to roll on.

The worst smog and pollution is not stereotypical LA and Houston, it's factual LA and Houston.

Maybe they do have the most green buildings, but they are also a lot bigger than Seattle. NYC is going crazy building green buildings. Next year, the Brooklyn Bridge will "go green" to save energy and output.

Houston only ranked high on one kind of air pollution - ozone/smog - not other kinds (like soot). And L.A. and 4 or 5 other cities in CA still rank higher than Houston on smog.

I'm talkin' big cities.

Ozone/smog isn't good. But I don't care, I have no problem with Houston.
