I will put in another vote for I-75 but ill add to the original Dayton to Toledo. I say from the Ohio River all the way to Detroit Michigan, basically the entire state of Ohio and beyond into parts of Michigan. Flat as a board, ugly cities , it really is a dull drive. I hate making that drive up there, its hard to stay alert through Ohio.

Yes I agree with this, the Mojave desert is a dull featureless drive, definitely competition for I-75 through the Midwest.

Its been 20 years since ive been on that, but yes it is dull. Another really dull highway is 80 across the great salt desert in Utah. That place looks like the surface of the moon.

The Indiana Toll Road east from Chicago. It doesn't get any better in Ohio.

At least on those interstates across the Plains states, there are frequent exits, where you can pull off and drive a mile down a gravel road and lie down on the grass and listen to the meadowlarks and vesper sparrows singing, and feel like you're in a country where you never want to get back in the car again and the place you were going doesn't seem very important. If you've never done things like that, you're missing out on America's best-kept secrets. In the 250 miles west of Salina, Kansas, to the Colorado line, there are 48 exits like that -- averaging one every five miles.

I-40 across New Mexico -> Texas -> Oklahoma. Just endless grasslands dotted with oil rigs, and doesn't pass through any interesting cities or towns.

My memory of that stretch might be colored by the 18-wheeler that didn't see me and started merging into my lane, forcing me to accelerate to over 100 to not die, with two people sleeping in the car.

I-29 in ND and SD, I-39 in Illinois probably takes the cake though. I-94 is somewhat boring but much less so than the other two. I-80 in PA is surprisingly rather boring except for the far eastern edge of the state. I-95 in both NC and SC is incredibly boring too.

Don't remind me. I have to take that drive next weekend.

One "newish" feature that I do not like on urban Interstates and freeways, is high "Sound Walls". It makes a ride on formerly interesting stretches of urban Interstates bleak and boring, especially for someone who is a passenger who can look around.

I do understand why they have been erected, just saying that they make some formerly interesting rides quite bleak.

What's more boring than the I-15 through the Mojave desert is the I-5 through the Western Central Valley, between Bakersfield and Stockton. 200+ miles without an actual house within sight of the road. Just giant, mechanical farms and run-down wayside stops.
