The tape is apparently damaged in places, but here's a cringe-worthy promotional song for Pittsburgh after it was named the "Most Livable City" in the United States by Places Rated Almanac in 1985.
It sounds like someone went into a circa-1985 department store, starting playing with a Casio keyboard with their friends and wrote a song on the spot, despite not having any musical knowledge or idea of how to write a song.
Despite some funky wah-wah riffs and disco beats this 1970s-era promotional film for Kansas City is so slow it's like taking a handful of ludes... But wow, they were really excited to have Hallmark in Kansas City back in 1978...
You do realize that these were satirical videos made by a local comedian over 5 years ago, in the height of the recession, right? In the past 5 years Cleveland has opened a casino, a hew highrise office building, an aquarium, countless apartment buildings converted from old office towers, a new convention center, a global center for health innovation, a $350 million art museum expansion, a new museum of contemporary art, several neighborhoods have completely taken off, etc. etc. But LOOK AT BOTH OF OUR BUILDINGS!

Some of the best city promos were produced by and aired on TV stations across the country that adopted the "Hello News" theme between 1978-1990. The theme music / promo packages were especially popular among Gannet-owned TV stations.
I grew up listening to these promos on WXIA 11-Alive in Atlanta. They still give me warm fuzzy feelings whenever I hear them. Just search "Hello News" on YouTube and you'll find dozens of examples, from cities big and small.
What these illustrate all to well, is the simple truth that the names of some cities are FAR FAR FAR more lyrical than others. Good luck writing a song about "Wichita" or "Indianapolis" and finding anything flattering that rhymes!
