I am not from the U.S. but I am very interested in its culture and history. I have never visited but from what I have heard the East Coast is more dangerous than the West Coast (with the exception of Oakland, Compton, etc.) Why is that?
I am very interested in the Pacific Northwest states and was wondering if cities such as Seattle, Portland and Vancouver BC (Canada) have crime? I have heard there's a skid row in Vancouver but I can't imagine that considering it was voted one of the best places to live in the world.
If Seattle has ghetto areas where are they located? I would like to StreetView them out of curiosity!

There are shootings and killings every night in my city and I'm not on the East coast or the West coast. The whole country is infested with crime and it's getting worse each year. No crime in your country ?

Crime is more prevalent in some parts than others - am I right? Why? That's all I am asking...
No. I am using statistics to back up my view. Don't get all defensive!
I am not defensive. I simply stated that the problem is that you are neither an American nor have you visited here. You're going off what you've "heard." If you're using statistics, please share them because you did not, nor did you state that you were basing your questions off statistics - you said you were basing it off what you've heard.
You're not the first foreigner who has never been here who has asked any question like this.
East coast and Midwest cities tend to have more de-industrialized areas where the longest and costliest war in US history (war on "drugs") has been waged for the past few decades.
Property crime actually tends to be worse in West Coast cities; violent crime tends to be worse in East Coast cities but sadly most victims are of a specific demographic.

Apologies.

Of the top 25 most dangerous, 8 are located on the East Coast (10 if you count homestead, fl and myrtle beach, sc) and 2 on the West Coast.
