I never liked Washington (DC) because the name breaks down to "washing town" in my mind.
I also never liked Albany (NY), Topeka (KS), or Houston (TX). Houston makes me think of "Eustace".

I have always loved Los Angeles (CA), "the angels" is fantastic! I also love Philadelphia (PA) and Miami (FL).

Albuquerque is a pretty unique city name in the US. It took its name from a guy who was the eighth Duke of Albuquerque in Spain in the 1500s. The location name of Albuquerque in Spain is Latin meaning "white oak tree". It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the US.
