Ya!

Also, Columbus, OH and Philadelphia, PA are almost exactly the same latitude so Ohio should be a northeastern state too.

Proof??

Columbus, OH -- 39.961176 , -82.998794
Philadelphia, PA -- 39.952335 , -75.163789

BOO YAH!

West Virginia is a southern state. This is extremely damaging to Ohio's claim as a Midwestern/Northeastern state. A non-southern state cannot border a southern state...especially a Northeastern state. It's a rule.

Yes, but this dilutes Colorado's regional purity, and gives it a taint of southerness true Mountain West states lack. That's why it makes sense to put Oklahoma in the Mountain West so that Colorado no longer borders a southern state.

Arkansas belongs in the Midwest because of its connection to those states through the Great Migration. Louisiana has a strong connection to the Pacific West for the same reason. Louisiana is more of a Southwest/Pacific West combo.

Ohio also enjoys a history of being part of the Northeast when it was the Connecticut Western Reserve. Ohio feels the influences of the Northeast.

Cleveland, for example, has one of the largest Italian/Irish/Jewish/Polish populations in the United States.

It has a fierce rivalry with Pittsburgh, a 100% Northeastern city.

It has New England-style architecture.

It snows a lot.

Why are you people trying to expand the definition of Northeast? Peoria is the same latitude as New York and Pittsburgh. Therefore Illinois should be northeastern. yeah

Northeastern depends on if you're talking about the union north, the pre-union north or the overall continental northeast. So you see, it can have at least 3 different definitions, but I think you all know what the op is asking.

How about we put a poll about the northeastern states on this page. The options would be Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. People would be allowed to choose multiple states.

How about LET'S NOT. You have created a dozen or so threads on variations of the same subject and no one agrees. Even IF everyone agreed with you it is proof of nothing. Opinions are not facts.

Argumentum ad populum

"In argumentation theory, an argumentum ad populum (Latin for "appeal to the people") is a fallacious argument that concludes a proposition is true because many or most people believe it. In other words, the basic idea of the argument is: "If many believe so, it is so."

So how about let's knock it off.

I wanted to respond to his post, but I resisted because I didn't want to give him the attention that he so badly wants.

But everything you said here is exactly 100%.

Let it go
