Midwest, definitely............as someone else pointed out, the South is its own distinct culture and hell, at one time it actually was its own separate country. Only in the last few decades has the South started to become more like mainstream America because of a mass exodus to southern cities like Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Dallas, etc. And even then, this is only true in parts of the South that people actually want to move to. Places like Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, etc. remain very culturally southern, for better or for worse.

True, but I'm wondering if southerners are unfamiliar with the fact that there are Midwestern states (especially Upper/Great Lakes Midwestern) that are also very distinct culturally. Not that I disagree overall.
