It's hard to say which region is the most beautiful because beauty is a matter of personal tastes. I grew up in California and assumed that back East was an ugly concrete jungle with clear cut trees and scrub mountains. When I finally travelled East to see it for myself in my 20s I was pleasantly surprised by how green and lush much of the East is. I think many parts of the East can hold its own against much of the West in terms of natural beauty, but for me the most beautiful area of the country is the Northwest -- old forests, dramatic coastline, and clean and forward looking cities.
i thought you hate mountains, and find them ugly. Why are you posting pics of them, then?
Because as evidenced by this thread, most people find them beautiful.
I was also showing greenery, fall foliage, and lakes in those same mountain pics. It's not just about the mountains. If it were up to me I would have picked all beach pictures from all around the whole East Coast but I know people wouldn't have found them dramatic enough so I'm trying to accommodate various perceptions of beauty. I think mountains can be very pretty, I just don't prefer them.

Everyone I know from California that moved here to New England is always in awe at how green everything is here. Much more than they thought. With that said, I agree with most people in this thread that the West is hands down more stunning than the East. There really is no comparison. Stop beating around the bush.

I think the two can be compared in some ways. Plus, not everyone's opinion will be the same. From photos I've seen, I think I would like the West more, in terms of natural beauty, but I respect the opinions of others.

I don't think "most" of the people in this thread have said that... and it depends on what you find "stunning". The west is bigger, has more scale to the landscape... that is true. But what if you are totally unimpressed by it? What if you are more impressed by lush ecosystems? Then you would find the east to be more "stunning".
The truth is that NO area is more "stunning" than any other area, it depends COMPLETELY on the perception of the beholder....
I know. But we both know those aren't the forrest to which OP was referring.
