What is the general sound/style/type of Hip Hop featured in your city? What are some cultural characteristics for it, intangibles (substances, vehicles, clubs/outings), and other stuff like that?

More specifically, curious to see what everyone leaves as a review for the scenes in these particular cities; New York, Atlanta, Miami, Washington, Houston, Detroit, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco [Bay Area], Phoenix, Philadelphia, Boston, Seattle, Minneapolis.

I'll list them vertically for those that want to add commentaries next to city names.

New York:
Atlanta:
Miami:
Washington:
Houston:
Detroit:
Chicago:
Dallas:
Los Angeles:
San Francisco [Bay Area]:
Phoenix:
Philadelphia:
Boston:
Seattle:
Minneapolis:

I left off San Diego and Denver, I don't think they even have a scene.

Which cities have the most prolific scenes or the most memorable/contribution scenes?

2 cities with very unique styles of music (hip hop) genre you don't even have listed.

Those cities are New Orleans and Baltimore.

Philadelphia has had a good number of rappers over the years from the commerical will smith jazzy Jeff era to the gangsta rap like Meek Mills to political enfused rap from Vinny Paz and Jedi Mind Tricks. There's more but there is variety here

I'm surprised that Memphis and New Orleans aren't mentioned.

I'll give it up to Albany, which has 2 Hip-Hop stations and the SUNY-Albany radio station also has good Hip-Hop shows that has a lot of underground Hip-Hop.

I think Cleveland deserves a mention, I think they might have a hip-hop scene. I know that at the least they're the place of origin of Kid Cudi. Same with St. Louis and Nelly.

The whole 757 has always had cutting edge Radio Programs from college Radio ( NSU) to 103. Pusha T, Clipse, Re Up Gang, Fam Lay, Skateboard P, Young Money Yawn, Breeze Barker, Quan, DMP and several underground rappers. Nottz Raw, Timbaland and Missy, Lex Luger, Bink, Neptunes and several producers come from here as well. Groundbreaking sounds and influence come from here. Clothing lines and several styles came outta here as well.
