Anybody know a spot where I can fish for Tilapia in Southwest Houston area?
Lakes, Ponds, creeks, etc?
I couldn't find anywhere to fish for Tilapia over google.
I've never heard of tilapia being in Houston or even Texas, unless you're at a restaurant (wink). Now, if you get far away from the city, you might find a lake with catfish, bass, and crappie.
You'll probably only find frogs, crawdads, and snakes in creeks. Good luck!
Tilapia are native to east Africa, but I know that they have started stocking them in the US, especially the SE according to my uncle's pond guy. Apparently they are mostly stocked in people's private ponds.
I think your best bet would be pay-to-play ponds in your area. So I would call around to them. I don't think you are going to find them in Fish and Game stocked "wild" waters or reservoirs.
