Is the province of Ontario more "northeastern" or "midwestern"? (accents, job)

Obviously, it's Canada and that's a stricter border than the Mason-Dixon Line but...why not? What US region does it seem to have more in common with or is more aligned with?

Everything East of Lake Superior in Canada is Northeast for sure imo.

Lake Superior does a good job splitting the country east-west; it's a sharper divide than in the US.
