Yesterday, I was riding in a car with my mother in Havre De Grace, MD yesterday and was looking to find I-95 southbound, and logically the way to get there was to head north, and somebody said that this road will lead to US Route 40, so we were heading straight until we encountered a sign were a left turn on this street leads to Route 40 and I-95, so we make the turn. When we reached Route 40 where the Waffle House on the corner (no, I don't call myself a southerner since I have non-Scots Irish/English/Black roots), we turn right. I then told my mother that a sign for I-95 was in the left, but didn't pay attention and kept going street, and one block later with one last chance to turn off before toll, ignored and then went clear over the Hatem Memorial Bridge over the Susquehanna River, and this lead to an $8 toll, and my mother was really pissed off just by not trusting a backseat driver. What really got her wound up is that she didn't see any warning about a last turnoff before toll, and blamed MD's government for the problem! That said, has anybody by accident drove the wrong way leading them to a toll?
I went over the George Washington Bridge by mistake once. I missed the exit for the Palisades Parkway and ended up in the toll plaza. Completely my fault, I thought I knew where the exit was and wasn't paying attention to the signs. I was more upset about getting myself into a log jam of traffic than about having to pay the toll.
