I actually would probably move back to Stamford as my primary residence. And likely get a place somewhere near North Conway or between there and Sebago Lake. One is home, the other is one of my favorite places in the world. I'd have enough to travel anywhere else I wanted but those would be my choices to live.
Would probably get a condo somewhere warm, but not exclusive, ideally where some friends already live.
But most of my money would be invested in incubator programs, so I'd have offices near a significant university or two, so maybe I keep a place in Pittsburgh, too.
Say you just won the state lottery. You are worth about $250 Million now. Don't have to work anymore. Could do and live where ever you want.
So....if you were mega-rich now and had the choice to live anywhere in the USA...where would you live?
Where would be your PARADISE?
With that amount of money...with that amount of money I'd only keep about 30-35% for myself...I'd spread a majority of the wealth to my alma mater, my family and friends, and a variety of charities and foundations.
I'd buy a house and land in Indian Hills, CO (about 21 miles from downtown Denver in the foothills) and take a monthly trip (4-6 day trips) to different spots in the West (mostly throughout CO, southern Utah, the central and southern coast of Oregon, and the northern Cascades of Washington) and a twice a year trip (12+ day trips) down to South America to hike.
I'd just live a chilled out life travelling, hiking, playing pick up ice hockey, go to school, and occasionally volunteering.
I would buy a mansion on the sound in Westchester County,NY in a town like Larchmont or Mamaroneck.I would also buy a second oceanfront home in Flagler County,FL.
For now I'm stuck in Frederick aka Fredneck,MD very overpriced and pretentious place.
A gorgeous penthouse in Manhattan
A beautiful beach condo in a high rise on Miami Beach
A sprawling home in southern California with a breath-taking view. (LA, OC or SD)
And a tropical oasis in a rural setting in Hawaii.
And finally I'd rent a super nice house every summer on the Jersey Shore to see fam and friends as that's where I grew up going to every Summer.
