Murder rates are down in big cities. But why? | Concord Monitor

In 1990, at the height of a decade-long crime wave that swept the nation, 2,245 people were murdered in New York City. In 2014, police investigated just 328 homicides in the five boroughs – a precipitous drop of 85 percent that’s being duplicated in major cities across the country.

Giuliani cleaned it up, it was good under Bloomberg, then De Blasio came in and race relations are more tense than they've been in years. Who knows what will happen now. When he was elected, people were calling him anti-police before all this sh*t happened and predicted crime would increase. Guess we'll have to see.

Either way, impressive and amazing stats for New York and other cities affected.
