I love the holiday season but after New Years, the only thing I really look forward to next is summer. January is a long dull month with the post holiday hangover effect and the winter chill is at its worst. Maybe I should book a trip to the southern hemisphere somewhere next January.
August is my birthday month so its always been my favorite. Still plenty of summer left with good beach/pool weather, and nights get a little cooler. I love that month, and there is still plenty to look forward to following August as Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec are all great months.
December and July are my favorites. December because of Christmas and July because its the middle of summer and the weather is usually guaranteed to be nice(Washington has the best summers). I voted February or March as the worst because its always still wet and cold and there's nothing very exciting happening besides the superbowl in early Feb. and Valentines and St. Patricks day(Which I never do much during anyway). Sometimes there's Easter in March, but I usually associate it with April.
Worst
July - TOO HOT
August - TOO HOT, part 2
June - ALMOST TOO HOT
September - COOLING DOWN BUT STILL TOO HOT
May - WARMING UP TO ALMOST TOO HOT
October - only thing worthwhile is baseball playoffs
April - baseball starts
March - baseball is almost starting
November - my birthday, big meal on a Thursday
February - winter leveling off
December - winter with buzz
January - dead of winter, breathing again like normal after holiday buzz
Best
My three favorite months of the year are October, November and December. Celebrating my birthday plus several holidays in a short period of time is fun, and so is watching football on the weekends. My favorite holiday of all is Thanksgiving, with Christmas being a close second.
My three least-favorite months are February, March and April. Valentine's Day is overrated; there's no football to watch, and I can't eat meat on Fridays during Lent. It's also peak tornado season in the South. St. Patrick's Day is an oasis in the middle of a bleak period of time.
Any month where snow/cold weather is a possibility is a terrible month.
