Maybe it's just me, but I think Philadelphians speak faster than any other city in the country. of course New York is always known to speak fast, but whenever I listen to Philly talk radio, I find everyone on their speaks even faster than new yorkers. anybody agree with me on philly speaking way fast?

They talk at light-speed in Spokane, but that's only because most of the city is high on meth.

I know Philly / New York talk fast....Boston i've never been or came into contact with anyone from Boston.....but i dont know if their is really a rank when it comes to these three. But overall in general i think the Northeast is known to speak fast. And im from Philly and i always joke and say you can never send a person from the North down South...they wouldn't understand me. They would prbly look at me like im dum, and i would get upset lol.

NYC, Philly, Boston, in that order. Even NYC rappers speak fast. Don't have any studies to back this up, this is just all opinion

There is no statistically significant variance in actual rate of speech among American dialects.

Lived in Philly and New York, they are similar. I don't really see much of a difference but most people I know who live in Philly are South Jersey or surburban Philly areas.
