A better choice might be Rio Rancho, right next door.
Ha-ha! No. That's kind of a step backwards if you ask me. A step forward would be Bosque Farms, it's cheap, has good weather (It's outside the ABQ Bubble) and unlike ABQ (apparently) it is safe. A little sub-rural though.
I went with Austin because the only other one of those cities I've ever been to is Dallas, and I cannot in all good conscience recommend Dallas.
