The day is fast approaching when the United States has a white minority for the first time in over 200 years of its history

white people in 1940 made up 90% of the U.S population, as of 2012 the figure has decreased to 62.8 %

In 2011, for the first time in U.S. history, Non-Hispanic whites accounted for under half of the births in U.S. - with 49.6 percent of total births

It is estimated that by 2040 white people will be a minority in the USA
and that by 2060 they will make up 42% of the U.S population

Texas, California, Hawaii and New Mexico all have a white minority

The percentage of white residents has fallen below 60% in Maryland, Georgia, Nevada, Florida, Arizona, New York, New Jersey, Mississippi, and Louisiana

So my question to you, will there by any states and metropolitan areas that will never have a white minority

will states such as Maine (95% white) and metropolitan areas like Pittsburgh (87% white) always have a white majority ?

will the decrease stop one day and will the population stabilize

Pretty much every state up north

Southwest has an abundance of Hispanics
Southeast has an abundance of Blacks

Those two groups are primarily only found in inner cities up north

I think NY and maybe NJ will be the exception.

Also, there are some Blacks and Hispanics in suburbs and small cities/towns in many Northern states. It will generally be at a lower volume/degree though.

The sunbelt cities would likely attract more Blacks and Hispanics than Northeastern metros, so I would say the Northeast and some parts of the Midwest.

Fixed it for you and ironically, the states outside of the "Sun Belt" that are close to being mostly people of color are in the Northeast(NY and NJ).

Much of the west and midwest. Places like Minnesota, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Dakotas, Wyoming, Idaho, etc.

Rural and low population density. Whites like this, minorities don't.

You'd be surprised at how diverse the Twin Cities is. Largest Somali population in the nation.

The state as a whole would have a hard time becoming majority minority, however, so I agree with it's inclusion.

Personally, I'd say those Northern Plains and Inter-Mountain Western states will remain largely anglo. Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Nebraska, Kansas, North & South Dakota.

Growth is happening in all of these states, particularly North Dakota due to the Bakken boom, but it shouldn't affect demographics in the entire state too much.

I dont know about other ethnicities, but Mexicans gravitate towards rural areas since a lot (that migrate here) of them come from rural areas in Mexico themselves, and a good amount still come to work as farm hands. Some of the most rural areas of states like California, Washington etc are pretty heavily Mexican. In fact, while the Seattle metro has a compratively low Mexican/Latino population, the state of Washington itself has a rather well established Mexican presence, especially in the rural and agriculture heartland of the state, Yakima Valley, where it is almost 50% Hispanic.
