I'm of the impression that all of the states have something uniquely beautiful and special about them, but you hear this term pretty often. To which states would you apply it?
But you sound like a mature adult, which is more than can be said for many C-D'ers...
I think a lot of the interior states are a lot more fun to drive through than to fly over. There's some seriously good eats in those "flyover states" if you really care to look.
To me, it's the entire Midwest (except for Chicago) and the South. There's little of interest to me in those regions, but that's just me. And living in Denver, I consider myself to be on the edge of flyover country lol!
As of 29 April 2015, it will, once again, be the only state in the nation with no commercial airline service. So, quite literally, flying over it is your only option.
lol Tragic!! I recently met a guy whom recently moved to Raleigh/Durham and was stating how he didn't like North Carolina. I asked where he was from and he said Wilmington, DE I didn't have the heart to really bash his town like I wanted to I just shook my head. Such a no count state. I'm sorry. and on all my trips on interstate 95 they have the worst maintained stretch of highway by far!!!

I'm not really understanding the term, but I guess I'd say North Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas.
At least South Dakota has tourism (areas around Rapid City), along with Wyoming and Montana.
There are some states that people don't visit because they don't have a need, and I'm probably speaking for the majority of Americans. North Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. You don't find too many folks who have visited those states, for whatever reason. This is only from my personal experiences, though.
