The largest city in America I've never been to yet is Los Angeles. I'm not fascinated with the town but of course I have to visit there sometime.
So what's the largest city in the country you haven't been to? What is its rank among other U.S. cities? Which of the largest 10 cities have you visited? What are some honorable mentions?
For me:
1. New York City - yes
2. Los Angeles - no
3. Chicago - no (but that will change this summer)
4. Houston - yes
5. Philadelphia - no
6. Phoenix - no
7. San Antonio - yes
8. San Diego - no
9. Dallas - yes
10. San Jose - no
Honorable mentions: Austin (11), Fort Worth (17), El Paso (19), Oklahoma City (27), Kansas City (37), Atlanta (40).
I've been to 16 states but hardly any of the big cities.
Location: northern Vermont - previously NM, WA, & MA

I lean more towards the metro population (with a few exceptions when CSA's overlap) as the most meaningful measure of collective cities/metro areas that are intrinsically connected as ranking among the largest, rather than arbitrary city limits of just one city which makes numbers more skewed. Case in point San Antonio which really isn't that big in the grand scheme of things when measured against Washington, DC, Boston, or even Denver. San Antonio ranks # 31 for the size of its metro area. Just saying...
New York - Yes
Los Angeles - Yes
Chicago - Yes
Washington - Yes
San Francisco - Yes
Boston - Yes
Philadelphia - Yes
Dallas - Yes
Miami - - Yes
Houston - No
Other major cities/metro areas I haven't been to
Minneapolis/St.Paul
New Orleans
Pittsburgh
Cincinnati
Milwaukee
Charlotte
Indianapolis
New Orleans is on my bucket list, and Pittsburgh is to a lesser degree though it still interests me.

Here are the metro areas over 1 million that I've never been. Most appear to be within a few hour's drive from the Gulf of Mexico.
Miami

Charlotte
San Antonio
Orlando
Austin

New Orleans

I have been to St. Louis, but I haven't spent much time there. I've never been to San Jose proper, but I have been to Palo Alto. I'm not sure if Palo Alto counts as part of the San Jose or the San Francisco MSA.

I agree. Not interested in arguing, but for a moment I thought your ranking was incorrect. When I read metro population, I thought MSA population would be used. Then I realized you were using CSA. I'm rather surprised posters use CSA numbers, they always seemed off to me and too broad.
But to answer the OP's question, largest I haven't been to is Houston (or Dallas if it's larger). Only been to Los Angeles very briefly when I was 15, only spent one, maybe one and half days in actually urban parts (rest was theme park visits), so didn't really see much of it.
