No way. I would take I-80 over staring at nothing but dense trees for hundreds of miles.

Can't speak for Nebraska (haven't been off the beaten path a whole lot there), but I-80 through Iowa cuts through arguably the least scenic portions of the state. But they may have done it for a reason, when traveling through long stretches of interstate you want to get to your destination as quickly as possible, so when you're going 70+ you're not going to stop and smell the roses!

It's the same in Nebraska. The interstate runs through the Platte River Valley for a reason. The point of the interstate system is to get from point A to point B as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I would also like to add Interstate 85 from Atlanta to Montgomery, and U.S. 80 from Montgomery to the Mississippi border. I recently drove that way nonstop and it was pretty boring.

I-15 from Butte to Idaho Falls.

Pray you don't get any mechanical trouble! There is nothing there! There is barely any scenery.

You don't enjoy breathtaking mountains and deserts?
I recommend the I-10 option from El Paso eastward.

I did the I-80 drive on my way to Denver last fall. It doesn't get monotonously boring westbound until after passing Lincoln, Nebraska. The Iowa portions of I-80 west of Des Moines are actually pleasant rolling farmland and woods. Pretty in spots, actually.

The worst part of I-80 through Nebraska is the long haul through the Platte River valley, which is shallow enough that there aren't any scenic bluffs, but just deep enough that there are no sweeping views of anything for hundreds of miles. Fairly monotonous, but there are worse drives.

I think the absolutely worst I've travelled so far is I-40 across the Texas panhandle. Nothing but barren dirt fields and possibly the flattest land I've ever seen along the entire stretch.

U.S. 95 from Las Vegas to Fallon, Nevada. The most exciting thing about that drive is probably that giant prison just outside of Las Vegas. And prisons should not be exciting to see.
