I'm curious to see what everyone thinks is the most boring drive in the US. I've driven in almost every state, so I definitely have some experience with this hah. Just pick a choice and explain if you'd like or share or story!

For me I have to go with I-10 in West Texas, although there are a few that are probably worse that I have yet to travel. I thought it was never going to end lol

I've driven across the US several times -- west to east, east to west, north to south and south to north. The most boring drive I can think of is in a surprisingly interesting state .. California. It's the I-5 from LA to the Bay Area. That drive is worse than driving across Kansas.

Haha I did that drive at night... Left SF at 5 PM and got to LA at about midnight. I thought I would never get to LA lol

Poll is posted btw!

I-10 from Pensacola to Tallahassee should be on this list.

I selected Interstate 10 because it's the only one I've traveled. (along with 20 from the terminus to around Midland) Ugh, I hated it! We were visiting El Paso and while it was fun, I certainly did not care for the drive. I was young though, and there were hardly any cars, so I got a few dozen trucks to honk. Some multiple times. I guess there's a bright side in everything.

However, I think the drive through Oklahoma, Kansas, etc. should be listed. HORRIBLE. NOTHING. Not even any good scenery to look at like the mountains of West Texas!

I-40 from about Conway, Arkansas to Amarillo, TX is mindnumbingly boring. It's especially bad west of Fort Smith once you get into Oklahoma. West of Amarillo it gets a little more interesting because you start getting into the transition zone from great plains to the desert southwest.

I'm originally from there! Haha I didn't include it because it isn't long enough. I'm trying to go for ultra boring, almost endless drives. The selections I picked were trying to be the most boring of a particular interstate which is why another honorable mention, I-80 between Lincoln, NE and Cheyenne, WY, isn't listed.

Kansas is include with I-70. Oklahoma isn't included because Oklahoma City breaks it up.

As someone who did the Minneapolis to Key West drive back in January, I think it's safe to say that Illinois (almost the entire state north-to-south, not just a small chunk of I-57) is probably the most awful stretch of nothingness I've driven...and I've done a lot of cross-country driving.

It's not even awe-inspiring nothingness like the western Great Plains; it's just mind-numbingly featureless farmland. No wonder people on the coasts think there's nothing in the Midwest; driving cross-country means crossing Illinois!

Haha Illinois is particularly painful to drive across for sure. I-74 and I-55 are broken up by various towns, so it's not nearly as bad as I-70 or...gasp...I-57 which was like death on wheels lol
