The MLS needs to rethink their markets, Salt Lake, Portland, Seattle, Columbus and other cities without the big four teams, the Revolution should move to Providence, Chicago to Milwaukee, DC to Baltimore., so they keep their geographic base but get into a cit where they are not put on the back burner.

A million people is not really that big. Albany, Rochester, Harrisburg, Birmingham, Greenville, Grand Rapids, Hartford, Louisville, Virginia Beach, Raleigh, Austin, Las Vegas, and Columbus all have CSAs bigger than Albuquerque, and none have any professional sport teams.
The Raleigh, Austin, Las Vegas, and Columbus CSAs are over twice the size of Albuquerque.
Wanted to give more to Orlando and Austin but their location 80 miles from bigger sports markets like Tampa and San Antonio hinder them. Orlando is getting an MLS team though.
I really don't think Tampa could support a NBA team.

Albuquerque is pretty isolated from other major cities, so it could pull it off much easier. Sort of similar to Denver' scenario, as the city has 5 major league franchises with a MSA of only 2.7 million. The reason it works there is because the Denver sports market is so isolated that people understand that it's either support Denver sports or nothing at all when it comes to reasonable driving distance.
