I hear from my parents that when they were younger (in the 50's & 60's) that they could leave their homes unlocked and walk almost anywhere in town and feel safe but now it seems every time you turn on the television you hear about a horrible crime.
Do you think this is because we now have instant news 24/7 and everything is reported?
or do you think it's just an increase in population? or are there just more bad people in the world now?
And finally do you feel safe in the town/city that you live in?
I feel pretty safe here, but we lock our doors anyway. Our town is about 400 people inside the city limits, and this century there's been, I think, one murder. Some guy was killed by his wife and stepson. There are a lot of drugs, but living in town I rarely have to worry about it.
