**NO AMUSEMENT PARKS.

Which locations in the US tend to be very cartoon-like. For example, which has very bright vivid colors almost to the point of being unrealistic.

The locations can be cartoon-like geographical locations or cartoon-like neigborhoods in a town.

Vegas, for sure. Especially all those replicas of famous places, it feels like a cartoonish theme park.

I second that, Las Vegas feels more imaginary than anywhere else in the US.

I think the towns of Chester and Metropolis in Illinois fit this description.
Chester was the home Elzie Segar, creator of Popeye the Sailor Man. The town has a 6-foot tall statue of the character along with a Popeye museum, an annual Popeye-themed picnic and parade, buildings with Popeye murals, and businesses named after characters in the Popeye cartoons.
Metropolis shares its name with the ficticious city from the Superman series. As with Chester, the town has a huge statue of Superman, a Super Museum, an annual Superman Celebration, and references to the superhero at every turn.

Bright and vivid colors sounds like San Francisco to me. Some other parts of coastal California, too. Haight Ashbury, San Francisco:

Vegas and Miami are the first two that jump to mind for "colorful"

Don't get me wrong, I really love West Virginia, but some of the people there look like they were drawn by Warner Bros animators on bad acid trips.
