Ok, but Los Angeles is clearly more urban than Miami by any metric you can think of yet you declare Miami more urban.

Persons in 20k census tracts
Los Angeles: 1,957,346
Miami: 272,074

This isn't particularly close. Miami out-sunbelts Los Angeles in housing stock, so don't even bother attacking LA that way.

CityKing stop Trolling man smh .

Los Angeles is so huge that it's like 5 u.s cities combined in 1,We got high dense areas thats walkable & low dense areas as well,Simply put L.A has everything rolled in 1.

What's your beef with Los Angeles anyway ? You & a few others disgust me with the things you say about the city man.

I have lived in LA as well as in many other cities in the world. LA is definitely just as urban as many other world class cities. Maybe not quite like the big central European cities like Paris, London or Berlin. But definitely just as urban as Stockholm, Prague, Guangzhou etc.

The thing I like the most about LA is that it's not New York City or Bangkok. You can actually breathe and take a walk someplace without constant noise from traffic and people.

But it's definitely not "suburban"...anyone saying that clearly has never been to Los Angeles.

Is this metric based on city limits?
Miami only has 430,000 people in its limits of under 36 square miles of land. if 272K live in such tracts, that represents over 63% of its population.

BTW, what is "out sun-belts"? Do you mean to suggest that Miami proper is more sprawled and has more single family/suburban land use sprawl by % than Los Angeles? Are you looking at the entire metro instead of the city limits?

Finally, you claim that Los Angeles is clearly more urban than Miami by any metric....
Well, how about the ppl/sm mile metric city to city? What about that one? Does that one not count? Do you have any clue about what's happening in Miami before making your sweeping statements?

LA has much worse air and water quality than even NYC, even despite LA's efforts to clean up its air in recent decades.

No, because Miami's city limits are tiny, only 36 square miles. If you a comparably small area of Los Angeles, it would be much denser than Miami. See:

Also compare Los Angeles with Miami density-wise. Not even close.

I was referring to housing stock. Both cities have tons Sunbelt style apartment architecture, but Los Angeles has a decent chunk of old school east coast style buildings scattered about. More than Miami, for sure. LA's bones are older than people think.

Thr rest of your questions were answered by nei.
