What are the best U.S. cities that have access to spectacular wilderness? Where you could go hiking, camping, fishing, boating, canoeing, skiing, ATVing, shooting, hunting, mountain biking, mountain climbing, etc. Where you could get away from it all. What are some of the country’s best "wilderness" cities?

Choosing just one on this poll is nearly impossible, as there are plenty of "right" answers....

Miami is the only city/urban area in America that borders two national parks. To its west there's the Everglades National Park. To its east is Biscayne National Park.

Anchorage, AK. Can't think of anywhere else that could match spectacular wilderness that scale.

Seattle may not be closer to wilderness in a general sense, but it is the closest major city to Mt. Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park, North Cascade Wilderness area, and the San Juan Islands.
