we all know places like NYC and san francisco are desirable to live, but considering the cost of living, not so much. which fairly large cities do you think gives the most bang for your buck?
Easily Cincinnati--this beautiful, charming city provides a low COL with many cultural amenities and a large corporate presence. It's truly a stand out in the Midwest!
Omaha and Des Moines are always in the top for standard of living (wages versus cost of living ). Both cities desperately need workers as job expansions exceed population growth. And both cities are growing above the national average.
Nashville and Austin TX parts of South Florida/Miami other than Miami Beach.. areas in Broward and parts of Palm Beach county. Chicago offers a lot but it is a bit costly but still cheaper than NYC, SF, LA and other elite cities.

i do wonder why is chicago much more affordable than the others when i believe many rank chicago itself pretty high?
What is "medium to large sized" or "fairly large"??
Chicago and Philly are obvious for the largest and most urban tier.
Down just a notch in size, you could consider Atlanta and Minneapolis, another notch or two, Denver, Pittsburgh and Cincy.
Down a notch in urbanity, Dallas, and another notch, Houston.
