What areas in the US get most sandstorms per year? And where are the sandstorms most severe? I've never been to one but I wish I could. How about sandstorms in West Texas and Southern California near Los Angeles area? (High Desert) or Victorville up to Barstow. Do they occur there too?

Palm Springs/Coachella Valley, CA has a lot of sandstorms. People buy windshield insurance there.

Oh, and they hurt if you get caught in one.

I've run into some pretty good ones in AZ on I-40 between Winslow and the NM border on occasion.
