TRUTH: Sitting around wishing for a better lot in life will not make it happen. No matter how long or or hard you wish. Financial success is rarely luck unless someone wins the lottery or inherits money. Bottom line, if you want a better lot in life you must put in the time to get a skill that is valuable to society. That may require a college education, training in building trades or some other craft, or being an entrepreneur.

Oh to be 23 again.. i get your current concern but trust me... this will seem like NOTHING in a few years/decades.

Nothing wrong with working at WalMart...if your not getting enough hours, get a second job. I would not move away too soon without some kind of parachute or guaranteed job in your new city.

Actually working at walmart could be used to his advantage. There are walmarts everywhere in the country, why not transfer to a lower cost of living area?? The info here on CD can direct you to low cost of living states and cities. I know in general that the Midwest and South are the lower COL regions in America. You also want to make sure that the area has jobs available since you may decide to look for a better job there.

Yeah, because getting killed in a foreign country in the name of corporate greed is the solution to a failure to launch in life.

Some very bad 'advice' in this thread.

Don't join the military, your government does not care about your service and will send you to your death at the drop of a hat, And to top it off you might even be able to murder someone. Yeah great idea

Soldiers don't win wars, Money changers do

When did this become about politics? Thought it was a solution for someone who had a need to find a way to make his life better.

The military is not a bad option. Speaking from experience, I have had a great time and live comfortably. Everyone's experience will vary based on which route you go (officer/enlisted) and what type of specialty pays you get based on your job, if any.

Also, you could try a GOFUNDME account and see if you could get people to donate to you. People will donate to a lot of weird causes.
