The only state pride I've seen has come from Californians and Texans. I really can't think of another state.
Minnesotans and Michiganders? Really? Do people live in an alternate reality?
The ones we really laugh at are the few over-the-top Floriduh honks, considering the rest of the country feeds on daily laughs from "Florida Man" and all the idiocy there.
Michiganders probably have the least pride out of those 3 states upper-midwestern states (none of which have any pride to begin with). And all go somewhere else for the most part. Just go to the graduating class of any University and ask them how many plan to leave Michigan to pursue their career? I guarantee you at any good University (i.e UMich) it will be over half.
U of M attracts people from all over the world so its natural that they would plan to leave. Many people have left Michigan in the last decade to pursue their careers due to the economic downturn in the state. That does not mean people that they do not have Michigan pride. Many Greeks are leaving Greece now, does that mean they lack Greek pride and nationalism?
Secondly, it is apparent that you know absolutely nothing about the Michigan mentality. Michigan feels like a country. It has an east coast and a west coast. It has 2 peninsulas. (It is also breathtakingly beautiful with all of its coastal towns...which every one has a unique feel.) There are "Made in Michigan" stores throughout the state, clothing/jewelry/household goods which are shaped like Michigan..etc. People here have intense pride over the university and professional sports teams, its music, cars...etc. Also, Michigan has a huge amount of people who vacation within the state. People in Metropolitan Detroit vacation in Grand Traverse Bay, the west coast, or the Upper Peninsula this all solidifies a unique feeling of being a Michigander. How many other people love to vacation within their home states? And the destinations to visit in Michigan are endless! Come visit Mackinac Island, Beaver Island, Grand Haven, Traverse City, Frankfort, Charlevoix... these are only a few cities on Michigan's 3100 miles of shoreline, and come discover how foolish your statement that the state does not have pride.
In fact, this was in an article posted in the CO forum:
"People who live in Colorado are weirdly protective of their state. It’s almost like they warn you: Don’t you dare say anything bad about Colorado, especially if you don’t live here."

Do you actually understand the concept of state pride? Whether you live there or not doesn't have much of anything to do with it. People with state pride like to boast about their home state, point out its good qualities and destinations, compare everything to "home," etc. None of these things require a person to live in his/her home state. Some of the people with the most state pride live elsewhere.
Do you know why everyone is arguing with you? It's because of STATE PRIDE.
LOL, that is perfect. Florida definitely produces the most news stories involving stupidity. I guess that's to be expected when a large chunk of your population is there because they are afraid of ice scrapers.
Texas has the most pride not even close with any other state, most California and NY citizens love their state but are pinko liberal states where they complain about the weather, cost of living taxes and homeless people 12 months of the year and then get mad if you ask would you move out of your state? No why would I do that after complaining about their state for 10 mins in a rant.

Florida is the home of the newly wed or nearly dead but I love your last line LMAO.
