What would be best place for a single guy retirement. Requirements are:
Best beach and city vibe.
Cost of living. Low housing costs.
Which city has a lower overall crime rate.
Which one has better sea food places to eat.
Weather.... Both probably similar but would lean towards a cooler city.
Which has more things to do around town.
What city would you pick and why? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I lived in Myrtle Beach in 06-07 and summer is great but once it's over the town dies and becomes a very depressing place to be in the winter. There's a lot of drugs etc that people get into. There has to be better options than Myrtle or Pensacola

Myrtle Beach was terrible when I went. Nothing to do, nothing to see, etc. I've surprisingly never been to the Redneck Riviera but I would choose Pensacola over Myrtle Beach from my experience.

Pensacola. Most beautiful beaches in the world (yes) not overly commercialized and an economy that's not dependent on tacky tourism. Weather on the Florida Panhandle is surprisingly mild and can get quite cold in the winter (with even an occasional snowfall). Plus, you're within just a few hours driving distance of some much larger cities like New Orleans, Birmingham and Atlanta.

Pensacola is way warmer in the winter than Myrtle Beach is.

I've been to both several times - Pensacola has by far the better beach.

Pensacola hands down ! Pensacola is also closer to other great beach communities such as Navarre, Destin and Orange Beach.

My parents are originally from the Myrtle Beach area and I still have family there. Between the 2, I'd pick Pensacola. MB's crime rate is very high and over-the-top touristy, to the point of being tacky. Pensacolna isn't bad, but I would suggest the Melbourne/Titusville, FL area. I have an aunt who lives there and she loves it. It's a really good metro area and retirement area from my findings. For the Carolinas, if you go farther south, I'd give the Charleston area a try. It's a stupendous area. Also some places around Wilmington, NC (Carolina Beach and Oak Island specifically). Great areas! Good luck wherever you land.
