I can't believe that guy compared rice village to SantaMonica.
It's less impressive than many la suburbs "old town" areas.

Google mapped the areas he mentioned.

Wow, is all I have to say..

Nothing looks interesting, unique, vibrant, urban, sophisticated or really walkable.

They all look average at best and all look the same, except for rice village. I guess.

Talking down la neighbor hoods for these places. I don't even..

There's no place like California, then again, there's no place like Texas.

My answer to the OP question is a resounding NO.

Sometimes I wonder if he's a parody account making fun of Houston posters on C-D

The video is funnier.
He's walking past strip malls
And nobody else is walking around .

It's like I wonder if Houstonians and Texans realize that? "Inside the Loop" doesn't impress or resonate with out of staters. It is not Santa Monica or Huntington Beach. Delusional.

Though Seawall Blvd in Galveston sort of reminds me of Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach, but that's not Houston proper

It's one thing to like your city. It's another thing to talk down a larger city to prop up yours, and Theres no evidence for it.

It would be like la guys bragging about the historic core and calling manhattan dull.

It doesn't happen.

But Houston people do this with la.
