We could always say the same thing about romanticizing all of our american history if you want to be politically correct, the Indians didnt invite us here. Every part of North America was built on white supremacy, like it or not.
There's a large chunk of the state south of Charlottesville going down to the NC border that is very rural and still pretty darn southern. If you're south of I-64 or the James River, I think it's safe to say you're in the South. Lynchburg has Liberty University, for one.

Yes, but only once (Williamsburg). As I said, "no offense", its just a stereotype and the first thing that came to mind. All states have stereotypes, VA is no different in this aspect.
