As a French person, I would say:

-North East (Bosh-Wash, esp. NYC and Boston)
-Coastal California
-PNW (Seattle mostly)

A few other cities like Chicago, Miami, Denver

Basically blue America, the one you see in the movies

Least comfortable:
-Rural south
-Rural midwest
-Texas

basically conservative America

I asked my French girlfriend who lived in the US for a year and travels with me whenever I go home. She said she really loves Washington DC and The South East coast near the beach. For example the outer banks. She also loves "cute" towns with nice downtown where you can walk around and get a nice lunch outside and relax.

I was going to comment earlier on the fact that Europeans are drawn to Florida. It is obviously the weather and Miami's reputation for nightlife, because the culture and values of Florida are very different, almost opposite. A lot of the Europeans who move there end up hating it.

Another reason Europeans are drawn to the east coast is that it's the shortest flight.

Default A different kind of immigrant?

On another thread something was brought to my attention…..

If it was fairly easy to do so, how many people would come to the U.S.A. to retire? And if so, who would come, and where would they go?

There is no retirement visa in the USA. So its really hard unless you have a lot of money to invest.
